Campbell to Miss a Month
Adam Schefter reports via Mike Florio of profootballtalk.com that Jason Campbell suffered a dislocated patella, and will miss a month.
Redskin nation can now breathe a collective sign of relief.
Todd Collins will be the starter until Campbell can return. Campbell will miss the rest of this regular season, possibly serving as the emergency quarterback for the rest of the year. Should the Redskins make the playoffs, Campbell would be physically able to perform in the wild card game. However, the Redskins need to go at least 2-1 to make the playoffs, which means that Todd Collins would have to play pretty good football down the stretch. Thus, you’d have a faction of management that would want Collins to start in the playoffs anyway as opposed to a non-100% Jason Campbell.
