Campbell Update
Recently posted by the Combined Wire Services:
“Jason Campbell doesn’t appear likely to return for the Washington Redskins this season, leaving the team’s playoff hopes resting on the arm of longtime bench-warmer Todd Collins. Campbell has a torn kneecap tendon which will likely require surgery, tea officials said. Collins, who’s 38 and had not thrown a pass in three years, led four scoring drives.”

Two Corrections:
“tea” should be “team”
“38″ should be “36″

That’s strange because everything coming out of Redskin Park, including Campbell himself, says that there was no ligament damage and it would not require surgery. He would still be out 4 weeks though.
In any rate, it’s Collins or bust. Hey, if guys like Trent Dilfer and Jeff Garcia can lead teams to the playoffs, why not Collins!?
This team deserves some breaks.

I’m in favor of Collins playing out the season, Gregg. He ran the offense very smoothly, made good/quick reads and accurate throws, never looked panicked and took charge decisively.
You can’t ask for any more than that from a back-up.
Heck, you can’t ask for any more than that from a starter.
