Randle El has minor knee surgery; Redskins sign Devine and Ghee
Redskins wide receiver Antwaan Randle El had arthroscopic surgery Tuesday to remove a “loose body” in his knee. He is expected to be available for the Redskins next OTA June 2.
Whatever a “loose body” is, it was found during a MRI. However, the injury was not caused by on field work according to coach Jim Zorn.
Maybe the Redskins didn’t draft too many receivers after all.
Two signed, four released
The Redskins signed first year quarterback Derek Devine and first year safety Patrick Ghee, both formerly with the Seattle Seahawks.
So, where once there was a pipeline to the defense for Buffalo Bills players rejoining Gregg Williams staff, we might now see a fastpath of ex-Seahawks signed to the Redskins offense, at least for a look-see.
Devine played college ball at Marshall and at Mt. San Antonio College in Walnut, California.
Ghee entered the NFL in 2007 and spent time on both the Seattle Seahawk and Carolina Panther practice squad.
From redskins.com, “the team also released four undrafted rookies who participated in mini-camp on May 2-4: defensive end Alonzo Dotson, safety Kevin Mitchell, quarterback Bret Meyer and safety Justin Scott.”

We think Randle El will be fine this year. We definitely have enough back ups if he goes down but he’s such a dynamic player. Last year, he missed getting into the end zone by a total of 2 yards. Maybe that “loose body” in his knee was the culprit. We can’t wait to see the offense explode under Zorn this year.
