No Redskins fans in Hawaii and no Brennan jerseys, either
Colt Brennan is hugely popular in Hawaii and Hawaii is a State of the Union, but Hawaiians may as well live on Mars when it comes to getting a Brennan replica jersey from the Redskins Store. The Redskins, who play in FedEx Field and who ship via FedEx, won’t deliver to Hawaii or Alaska.
The issue came to light on the Colt Brennan Blog. A quick call to the Redskins store confirmed that, indeed, the Skins don’t ship to the forty-ninth or fiftieth State. Guess Honolulu is too far Hawayy. [Sorry; couldn’t help it.]
Odd logic, considering that customers pay the shipping charges and FedEx will gladly deliver there. But then, this is Washington, where those out-of-towners in Congress accuse the place of oddness to get elected, then contribute to it once they get here.
It’s just odd here. The District of Columbia is the place where residents play $18 billion in federal income tax– highest per capita in the U.S. – yet don’t get a single Congressional vote on how it’s spent. Something like that got this whole country going.
This being Washington, the solution is to write your congressman, Colt Brennan fans. If Arlen Specter can bully Commissioner Roger Goodell on Spygate, surely Daniel Inouye and Daniel Akaka can push Daniel Snyder to ship to Hawaii. I suspect both have been in the owner’s box at FedEx Field, or old RFK, at least once.
It’s odd, but that’s how things get done around here.
“I have heard that my jersey is selling really well. I always joke that 90 percent of the fans buying the jersey are coming from Hawaii. I have a lot of loyalty to Hawaii and I have a great following there. I’d love to start the same thing here in Washington.” ~~ Colt Brennan, from his Training Camp Blog on Redskins.com.

FedEx and UPS 2nd day rates (the cheapest) to Hawaii is a ripoff (probably over $30 for a jersey), but as you mentioned, AB, the purchaser pays for it, so the logic to exclude Hawaii is puzzling.

Thanks for the local distributer- but are those the same NFL jerseys that the Redskins Store carries? Looks like the Reebok ones.

Senator Akaka has never been invited to watch a Redskins game from the owner’s box, nor would he accept such an invitation.

Thank you, Jon. From your Web Site, I take it that you are a member of the Senator’s staff. If so, you should know that we often speak in jest here at Hog Heaven. (We are almost always serious about Redskins Players.)
However, a number of the Senator’s constituents would like for him to pick up the phone and call his namesake and influence a little policy change. It would be good press for Daniel Akaka to get Daniel Snyder to ship shirts to Hawaii.
How about it?

“hawaiians may as well live on mars when it comes to getting a Brennan Jersey” remember, we’re part of the 50 states and when you so called Americans want to come to have a nice vacation, where do you decide to go? “oh, HAWAII!” so…remember, we don’t live in grass shacks and yes we do have internet and we do have FedEx and UPS here. so go figure!

Does that make Akaka pious that he wouldn’t accept an invite to the owner’s box from Dan Snyder or perhaps Akaka wouldn’t want to hang out with Republican donor Dan Snyder?

LOL.
Well, Dean, ethics laws are a bitch. It’s gotten so a self-respecting politician can’t take nothing from the grateful public, or lobbyists, or rich guys, or oil companies.
