Seahawks Week 15 preview
Does anyone remember the Seahawks starting the season with a 4-4 record this season? Well, in case you didn’t know, the Seahawks have turned things around winning their last five games, and they have a chance to continue their winning ways this week against the struggling Carolina Panthers.
The Seahawks (9-4) have been able to dominate on both sides of the ball these past couple weeks, and it doesn’t look like anyone is about to slow them down anytime soon. Carolina, on the other hand, have been struggling to build a consistent offensive front this season. With the loss of QB’s Jake Delhomme and David Carr, the Panthers have put the keys to their offense in the hands of former NY Jet Vinny Testaverde, who at the age of 44 is now one of the oldest players to have ever played the game.
To say the least, Vinny and the rest of his gang are going to have his hands full this week. The Seahawks’ defense has been unbelievable during this winning streak. With Patrick Kearney disrupting the defensive line, and Marcus Trufant leading the coverage in the secondary, Seattle’s D should be pretty dominant in this game. The scary part of all this is that I didn’t even mention how the presence of Lofa Tatupu and Julian Peterson is also probably going to play a big factor in the consistency and stability of the Panthers’ offense.
Offensively, Matt Hasselbeck shouldn’t and most likely won’t have a problem plowing through Carolina’s defense either. Hasselbeck has been able to show that he does have the ability to lead his lead a high-powered pass-first offense these past few weeks, and with the option to throw to a diverse group of talented receivers, its only a matter of sitting in the cracks of the defense.
The Seahawks should be able to extend their winning streak this Sunday to six games. My predictions, Seahawks 37, Panthers 10.
