Seahawks lose to Panthers??!!!
Seriously, WHAT THE HELL HAPPENED IN NORTH CAROLINA?
With a win against the Panthers, the Seahawks had an opportunity to catch up with either Green Bay or Dallas for first round bye in the playoffs. Instead, they snapped their five-game winning streak and played one of their worst games of the season against a team that’s lost six of their last seven games.
The first three quarters were more painfully boring to watch than watching grass grow. After going scoreless through the first 47 minutes of the games, the two teams combined to put up 23 points in the last 13 minutes of the contest.
Rookie QB Matt Moore outplayed Matt Hasselbeck, and more importantly he was able to dictate the control the of the game, well at least in the 4th quarter, that is. Moore was able to keep his offense on the field 10 minutes longer than the Seahawks, which played to their advantage late in the fourth quarter. Moore is the fourth quarterback to start for the Panthers this season with injuries to Jake Delhomme and Vinny Testaverde, not to mention the struggles that Carolina has had with former no. one pick David Carr as well.
Now that the Seahawks are out of the hunt for a first-round bye, Mike Holmgren can choose to rest his starters with two games left on the schedule. Although, ideally the Seahawks should focus on gaining back the momentum that they lost on Sunday.
Last Sunday’s game proved that there are some gliches that the Seahawks need to work on in the offense. The running game for one was virtually unbearable the entire game. Shaun Alexander and Mo Morris combined ran for a disappointing total of 32 yards. I guess now you know why Holmgren switched first to a pass-first offense.

Odds Shawn Alexander is on a Seahawks roster in…
2008: 65%
2009: 1%
He’s looking more and more done every carry. There’s simply no argument for Alexander over Morris.
