Henry In Trouble……..Again
Local12.com reports that Bengals receiver Chris Henry is in trouble with the law yet again.
Gregory Meyer, an eighteen year old University of Cincinnati student, claims that Henry threw a bottle at his car, shattering the windshield, and punching him in the face, requiring staples. He does not give a reason as to why Henry did these things.
Henry claims that he was never there, and that it was a mistaken identity. This has happened in the past, so don’t believe this story quite yet.
So, he’s being charged with assault and is expected to turn himself in soon. If these charges are true and Henry is convicted, he’ll certainly be suspended and possibly banned from the league forever, as he’s had countless run ins with the law, resulting in an eight game suspension last year.
Its so sad to see Henry, a guy with tremendous talent, ruining his life by doing stupid things like this, if Meyer is right. He’s a great receiver, and Cincinnati really needs him, but if he’s found guilty, it might be time to let him ago.
Now do you see why the Bengals can’t and won’t trade Chad Johnson, besides the money factor? They’d be left with just TJ Houshmanzadeh if they trade Chad and Henry is done, and that obviously won’t work.
Hopefully for Henry and the Bengals, this is just a big mistake and nothing significant happens. But considering Henry’s past, its tough to not believe Meyer, an innocent college student.
