Rosenhaus makes the case for trading Chad Johnson
It’s an eerily familiar script. Disgruntled wide receiver who is unhappy with his contract has his agent take his case public.
Profootballtalk.com carries a YouTube clip of Drew Rosenhaus pleading the case for the Cincinnati Bengals accepting a trade offers for Chad Johnson. Rosenhaus says he speaks as a fan when saying that a trade is just good sense.
The PFT story says Bengals owner Mike Brown is making a point with his “no trade” stance and that “no amount of money or draft picks will change his mind.”
There is a certain familiarity in Drew Rosenhaus tactics after similar episodes by two of his clients, Terrell Owens and Lance Briggs: petulant statements by the players that offend local fans; skipping voluntary team activities; threats never to work for that team again, and, in Owens’ case, a challenge to authority while with the team.
Owens was eventually suspended with pay by the Philadelphia Eagles in 2005. He lost an arbitration hearing, but achieved his ultimate goal when the Eagles released him. He would sign a lucrative contract with the Dallas Cowboys in 2006.
Lance Briggs eventually settled for a $7 million one year contract with the Chicago Bears during his franchise season. He signed a $36 million contract with the Bears early this year.
As the world turns in the days of Drew Rosenhaus’ life, it seems that next episode in this soap opera will take place in Cincinnati.

Tell that scumbag Rosenhaus to drop dead. He causes more problems for teams than any other agent. The Bengals are taking the high ground and I applaud them for it.
Chad is a moron anyway. He wants to go into the HOF he wont do it with Jason Campbell. Stick with Carson Palmer
