Peyton Manning out four to six weeks
The Indianapolis Star reports that Colts quarterback Peyton Manning underwent surgery to remove an infected bursa sac in his left knee. With rehabilitation of up to six weeks, Manning should be back in time for the Colts season opener September 7 against the Bears.
Here’s how the Colts described it on their official web site:
“Peyton Manning had an infected bursa sac removed from his left knee this afternoon. The procedure was routine. The Colts’ medical staff expects a full and complete return to action in four to six weeks.”
First Marvin Harrison, then Dwight Freeney and Bob Sanders, now Manning gone until early in the season. I think this is a Jack Del Rio plot to take over the division.
The Colts open training camp July 24 and open the exhibition season against Washington in the Hall of Fame Game, August 3.
