Bengals sign 2 picks
According to the Cincinnati Enquirer, the Bengals have agreed to deals with third-round defensive tackle Pat Sims and sixth-round safety Corey Lynch. They aren’t expected to officially sign the deals until Sunday.
Because of weak depth at the defensive tackle position, Sims will have the opportunity to come in and make an immediate impact. He won’t start, yet, with possibly three other linemen being ahead of him, but he’ll still help.
Lynch will have a hard time making the team, although it became a little easier today with the release of Blue Adams, a special-teams player.
With these two signings expected to be completed, the Bengals have now signed six out of ten picks. First-rounder Kieth Rivers remains unsigned, but it could become easier to agree on a deal with today’s signing of Jerod Mayo, who was taken a spot behind Rivers.
