Parker laying low until injuries heal
Yesterday, Chargers’ receiver Eric Parker was cut from the team. The twenty-nine year old missed all of last season with a turf toe injury that required surgery, and San Diego has too many receivers to keep someone like that on the team.
This was written in the San Diego Union-Tribune:
The agent, Jack Bechta, said Parker’s surgically repaired toe is “not 100 percent” and his client will not visit prospective teams until it is.
Right now, Parker is still trying to recover from the toe injury along with a bad calf. When he is healthy, he catches a lot of passes, although he doesn’t score many touchdowns and doesn’t rack up a big amount of yards.
It’s understandable why he wouldn’t want to sign with anyone until the injuries heal. He’s a pretty good player who is capable of starting, and deserves a better offer than worried teams would give him now. He better get healthy soon, though, or his options could be extremely limited. Right now, you would have to figure that at least a few teams have interest in him.

Get well Eric Parker. Your “tough as nails” approach to 3rd down recieving is going to be missed in San Diego.
