Raiders to cut ties with Jordan?

As expected, LaMont Jordan hasn’t shown up at Raiders’ camp. If you missed it, he said yesterday that he would come to camp Friday if he wasn’t released or traded, despite the message from the Raiders telling him to stay away.

And, profootballtalk.com now has a source saying that Jordan will indeed be cut or traded before tomorrow. As I said yesterday, this is really the only choice they have. They will certainly lose a grievance if they don’t let him practice, and he won’t just sit at home and eat potato chips while watching soap operas.

I doubt he gets traded, as his contract is too large, so it appears that he’ll be released. I doubt he plays very well and comes back to haunt the Raiders, but they apparently think he might be able to. And keep in mind, this is only if he can find a team willing to give him anything. With all the other running backs out there, it might be difficult to find work.
