The Steel Tradition
Chris Henry, kiss your season goodbye
Not long ago, the debate raged around the blogosphere as to whether the Steelers were becoming the 2008 version of the 2006-07 Bengals, what with three players charged with crimes. Well, the Bengals have usurped whatever bit of the crown the Steelers may have managed to wrest away from them, and it was at the hands of their Favorite Felon.
Chris Henry, already on His Supreme Lordship Goodell’s crap-list from his four previous arrests in a 14-month span, and the recipient of an eight-game suspension in 2007, has a new warrant out for his arrest according to Cincinnati’s Enquirer. The arrest is a misdemeanor assault charge, which would warrant a slap on the wrist and possible probation for nearly any other player from any other team. But this is Henry we’re talking about. If he was to belch a little too loud in public and fail to excuse himself, el Capitan Goodell would be calling for his head.
We in Pittsburgh thank you, Mr. Henry. We’ve all been getting sick of hearing about Chad Johnson and T.J. Hooshyermama and their constant moaning about their contracts. And we appreciate you making it that much easier to defend the Bengals’ third receiver in 2008.
Oh, and you can expect a thank-you gift from Pac-Man Jones via FedEx tomorrow morning, too. If they’ll deliver to the pokey, that is.

And by “season”, I am sure you mean “career”. What a moron. Where can I bet the Cedrick Wilson is wearing the “orange jumpsuit” of the Bengals next september?

And, thus, the Bengas’ fanbase is spoken for.
While this post isn’t about who has the better team, I would like to point out that the last time any team from the current ACF North besides Pittsburgh won a playoff game was 2001.
A team can get lucky for a season (see the 2006 Ravens), but you don’t get lucky for 38 years. That’s called solid, smart management, consistently good coaching and excellent talent and character evaluation. That last item is something the Bengals consistently screw up on, and that’s why they are constantly in disarray. Chris Henry is a perfect example of such.

“Henry for life?” Even to a Steeler fan that seems excessive….maybe 5-10 with time off for good behavior!!!

As a Titans Fan, I wanna thank Chris Henry. Now everybody can see that the league is full of nuckleheads, and some pressure can be taken off “Thug-man Jones”. At least for now. Henry should get the same type of punishment “Thug-man” received. And shouldn’t be reinstated anytime soon. Chad Johnson has every right to complain, although I do agree with the fact that he makes himself look idiotic, and selfish. But this team is doomed 4 ever. Once the Bungles, Always the Bungles!

Well, since the Bengals draft players with the same intelligence as “Who Dey 15″ its no wonder that they rarely get to the playoffs, have NEVER won a Superbowl and constantly get crushed by the Steelers…
Who Dey, We Dey, lol

He points out how they would dominate the Steelers if Chris Henry was still there. Correct me if I’m wrong, here (and I’m not because I’m looking right at the stats), but the Steelers swept the Bengals in ‘07 by a combined 48-23. Henry played the second game, contributing a whopping 2 catches for 31 yards. And that was a game played with two backup safeties. Are you quaking in your cleats? I’m quaking in my cleats.
