Titans acquire DE Bryce Fisher
Six-year veteran defensive end Bryce Fisher has been acquired in a trade with Seattle.
I’m not too familiar with him and don’t really recall him from the Titans-Seahawks game two years ago. Fisher’s stats are pretty good though. He’s averaged 7 sacks and 47 tackles for the last three years.
He sounds like pretty good quality depth. The Seahawks connection has surfaced again, with Mike Reinfeldt and Lake Dawson being familiar with him in Seattle.
The Titans released DT Jesse Mahelona to make room on the roster for him and they now have five DEs. Fisher will join the rotation of KVB, Odom, LaBoy and Conover. My guess is Conover will be a weekly inactive.
If any of you are familiar with Fisher, please share your thoughts with us.

i don’t know anything about him, but it’s good to see someone come on board who can help with the pass rush now that Long is gone.

Dont really know him but everything I have read and heard from the media is this is a good move for the Titans. He’s a solid player, good character guy, who adds depth and most assume will be starting opposite of Vanden Bosch soon.
Its a great move imo. More veteran depth can only help much less if he turns out to be better than Odom and becomes the starter.
This is why we didnt spend all of our money on over inflated FA contracts this spring. We can make moves that others cannot. I doubt its the last one we make.

I like the pickup as well. You never know when LaBoy and/or Odom will get hurt. My question is when is the earliest he can learn the system and play, this week because we could sure use the pass rush?

I think you can get a DE in the lineup pretty quickly. Just tell them to rush the passer. I’m not an X-and-O expert, but it would seem much more difficult to get a linebacker or DB integrated because of the complexities of their assignments.

I am very impressed by this guy before he even takes his first snap with Tennessee. Check out this interview from Titans Online. Character guy no doubt!
