Thank You!
One big problem that I have with a lot of sports reporters/columnists is that they don’t thank their readers nearly as much as they should. After all, if no one read them, they wouldn’t have a job.
That being said, I wanted to send a big thank you out to all the readers of this site. We were the 12th highest-read site on MVN (which has a ton of sites) for the month of April. In the seven months that I’ve been writing for MVN, I can’t remember this site getting ranked that highly. Although I can’t remember what I did last week, either, so…you know (just kidding).
We (myself, Anthony and Ryan) work pretty hard to keep you informed and entertained on all things Vikings and to know that you guys are actually checking it out (whether you love it or hate it), that means a lot to us.
And keeping with the “good vibes” theme of this post, I wanted to pose a question to all you faithful readers: What would you like us to write about?
As I said in my review of Green Bay’s offseason, this time of year marks a dead zone for NFL activity and for people like Anthony, Ryan and myself (i.e. people with no actual access to the team), story ideas can be hard to come by.
We’ll try our best to keep the stories coming, but sometimes there are stories out there that people want to read that we just plain don’t think to write. That’s where you come in. If you have an idea, make sure to post it in the comments section. If it’s a cool idea, we just might write it up for you guys.
Either way, thanks again. We really appreciate your interest in what we do.

We thank you guys for giving us something to read about during the offseason. I know you guys don’t have access to the team, but any personal info on new players like EJ’s brother that you guys can fish up would be cool.

By the way, they are saying “the big teddy bear” wrapped a dry cleaning bag around his two year old’s head. Any new info on that?

Hello from the Frozen Tundra blog. A nice piece about the historic rivalry of the Queens and Packers is always a fun topic. It looks like this season could be quite interesting in the North. This Rivalry has sure become heated over the years and now ranks right there with the Bears as our #1 team to beat. Too bad for those lions huh? We should have a friendly wager between our two blogs for each game. Loser must write a piece praising the victor on their blog. Any takers? Good luck to you this year.

We’re game, Casey. And thanks to everyone who checks the site out! It was truly awesome to see the April traffic rankings. Keep the ideas coming.

Since this is a quiet time of year for the NFL, I thought I’d suggest a story on the other professional football team in Minnesota. Who, you ask? It’s the Minnesota Vixen! The Vixen are part of the NWFA - National Women’s Football Association. The NWFA holds their season in the spring - during the NFL dead time. The Vixen have been around for 10 years now (yeah, 10 years!) and could use some more good PR.
I just joined the team this year and I’m starting corner back on defense, kicker and slot back on offense. Our schedule is up on the website along with some game day photos and other fun stuff: www.minnesotavixen.com Check it out!

Thanks for the idea, Danielle…I’ll try to catch at least one of your two upcoming home games and will write a story about it.

Thanks! That’s awesome!
As for any Vikings stories. I’d agree with Jeremy - any content on the newbies would be good. Maybe even your guys’ take on who’s gonna make the final 53 man roster/updated depth chart? (might be a little soon for that) Or anything on the QB situation. Especially with drafting a QB in our 2nd of only 5 picks (along with bringing in an undrafted QB). 5 QBs, 3 spots, who goes?

Have you guys done a game by game prediction of the upcoming season? I’d be interested to know what you think the Vike’s won/lost record will be.

Danielle, my sister played LB and FB for the Vixens about 5 years ago and I tried to keep up with them as much as possible. I live in Alabama so the only game I got to catch is the one in Jacksonville. Good stuff!

hi, thanks for the work yall do giving us something to read about during the offseason. I am a vikings fan from oklahoma (because of AD). I have an idea for a column. Take Tavaris Jacksons stats from last year, compare those to the stats of playoff quarterbacks since 2000 or something, and discuss how some of the teams with weaker QBs were able to make the playoffs (run game, defense, weak schedule/division, etc). Also using those other QB stats, how much improvement might we need to expect from Jackson to have a good shot at the playoffs.
