Redskins injury update: Many out, Mason back in

by spence on November 23, 2009

OG Chad Rinehart: Broken fibula against Dallas and now on injured reserve. Out for the season.

CB DeAngelo Hall: Sprained medial collateral ligament against Dallas and could miss this Sunday’s game against Philadelphia.

DT Albert Haynesworth: Injured ankle against Denver and missed the Dallas game. May miss the Philadelphia game, too. Status uncertain.

TB Ladell Betts: Torn anterior cruciate ligmament and medial collateral ligaments against Dallas. On injured reserve and lost for the season.

TB Clinton Portis: Continuing to suffer from blurred vision due to concussion suffered November 6 against Atlanta. Will not play this Sunday against Philadelphia and may not play the week after against New Orleans.

FB Eddie Williams: Leg injury and on injured reserve. Lost for the season.

TE Chris Cooley: In a walking boot for another 10 days, so he will miss, at the very least, this Sunday’s game against Philadelphia.

According to Head Coach Jim Zorn, the Redskins will try to sign TB Marcus Mason, who has been cut and re-signed multiple times by the Redskins. Mason is needed because the team is down to two healthy tailbacks on the roster, Rock Cartwright and Omar Ganther. Zorn also said he’d never been around a team that had suffered this magnitude of serious injuries.
