The NHL Draft Lottery
(Edit I miss Chicago in the Mock Draft as TSN forgot to put them in the list on there site)
Tonight the NHL held the Draft Lottey Tonight. One of five teams had a chance for the Stamkos sweepstakes. The Tampa Bay Lighting, the Los Angeles Kings, Atlanta Thrashers St. Louis Blues, and the New York Islanders.
With almost a 50% chance of winning the lottery the Tampa Bay Lighting are on the clock with the Number 1 pick in the 2008 Entry Draft.
Here’s My Quick 1st Round Mock Draft (1-13)
1. Tampa Bay: Steven Stamkos
2. Los Angeles: Drew Doughty
3. Alanta: Zach Bogosian
4. St. Louis: Luke Schenn
5. New York Islanders: Alex Pietrangelo
6. Columbus: Tyler Myers
7. Toronto: Colin Wilson
8. Phoenix: John Carlson
9. Nashville (From Florida): Nikita Filatov
10. Vancouver: Mikkel Boedker
11. Chicago: Zac Boychuk
12. Anaheim: Kyle Beach
13. Buffalo: Cody Hodgson
14. Carolina. Josh Bailey
That’s My Take

Nathan well it went the way it was set to be.Tampa Bay,LA , Atlanta,St Louis,NY Islanders. To bad they could not of did the draft live not before the show.As for the draft watch Stamkos to Tampa Bay
that is a no brainer. As for LA Doughty or M.Bodeker
(Kitchener Ranger ) he is shown as a left winger but Kitchener has been using him as a defenceman. He scored 2 goals Sat. against Sarnia
with the LA head scout there and the scout said he liked Bodeker as well.Liked his shot and I have seen him play and he can shoot.Watch for LA to take either one of these. As for Stamkos he is headed to the Sunny South

Thanks for the comment again Ken. Boedker a defenseman? That’s the first I heard they were using him as D. Maybe on the powerplay?

The only reason I watched the lottery is because there was nothing else on. Seriously, that thing is so uneventful. Only five teams have a chance at winning the first pick, and in most years (like this year), the lottery does nothing. It’s a big waste of time. The only year it was ever good was Crosby’s year.

It was boring but I was surprised Versus picked up…They should have rewarded us with the hour and half playoff preview show that they showed afterward.
