5. T.O. says he was joking about Jessica Simpson. In today’s Dallas Morning News, Terrell Owens claims he was joking when he said Tony Romo’s girlfriend, Jessica Simpson, has been a distraction for the Cowboys’ quarterback. In an interview earlier this week, Owens had said that “Jessica Simpson is not a fan favorite — in this locker room or in Texas Stadium.” Owens has since backpedaled, saying, “I tried to get [Romo] to call [Simpson] so I can explain to her that she doesn’t really know me and that I can be funny.”
