Hey Anthony…
I too will be yelling for the Giants to win, and it’s difficult for me too - as I pretty much despise all NY teams.
But the reason I will support the Giants is that I am a Dolphins fan - whilst Mercury Morris is incredibly annoying, it’s a tough-call to sell the ‘72 Dolphins as “arrogant, self-important”.
To a man, most of them are all class (the exception being the aforementioned Morris).
As of the time of typing, that team is the only one ever to go through a season undefeated, an awesome achievement. That’s important. And if they come across as arrogant, well, I think they have a lil’ to be arrogant about.
I don’t recall exactly what Don Schula recently said, but it was along the lines of:
“I will be rooting for the Giants. I will be one of the first to congratulate the Patriots should they win, but that doesn’t mean I have to want it to happen.”
And that’s fair, is it not?
