Chris Berman’s Outburst Makes Sense Now
Like everyone else, I was wondering if Chris Berman’s recently-revealed blowup to his production staff was truly justifiable. It seemed like he was being way too harsh on the people who are responsible for creating a successful halftime show–treat your guys with some more respect, Berman!
Alas, I was mistaken about all of that. The true reason for his profanity-laden rant has been unveiled, and suddenly, I can completely understand why Berman got so angry:
Hell, I’d get pissed too if I had to work alongside someone who couldn’t say a grammatically-correct sentence to save his life. That being said, I’m in agreement with Awful Announcing about Emmitt Smith–watching him struggle to express his thoughts in a semi-coherent matter makes Sunday NFL Countdown a compelling show.
ESPN: Do football fans everywhere a favor, and bring back Emmitt for another year with Countdown. In a twisted, ironic way, he makes that program somewhat watchable.

Hey Anthony, I’m from MVN RAMblings…just got a great chuckle out of this piece! Nice work. BTW, check out profootballtalk.com for a hilarious combining of the Berman rant with some classic Smith language murdering.

Anthony great job. Is not Berman smart enough to realize while he was at Brown University wasn’t Emmit at the Univ of Gators? Berman who five years ago I enjoyed has now grown tired - isn’t time for him to retire. Emmit is not there for his grammar but his insight and experience as a player - cut him some slack Berman your no Joe Buck. You rock Anthony!!!
