Shockingly, the Sacramento Kings Dancers Might Actually Face Punishment

You’ve gotta be kidding me. When pictures surfaced online of Sacramento Kings cheerleaders posing in sexually-suggestive manners at a party, I wasn’t too worried for them. After all, the Maloof family owns the Kings…and if anyone was going to leave these dancers completely unpunished, it’d be the Maloofs.

Or so I thought, at least. Apparently, I had the Maloofs all wrong–the members of the dance team involved with the party could end up facing disciplinary action, after all:

Several members of the Sacramento Kings dance team could face possible disciplinary action from the organization after sexually suggestive photos of team members were posted online.

After the photos began circulating online, Maloof Sports and Entertainment Business Communications Manager Jaime Morse Mills issued a brief statement, saying the pictures were published without the knowledge or permission of the dance team members or the organization.

“(The pictures) do not adhere to the principles and values of the Sacramento Kings organization,” Mills stated.

The guys at Sactown Royalty make a great point–aren’t the pictures fairly reflective of what those women are paid to do at each Kings home game? Seriously, you’re employing them to dance provocatively and wear revealing clothes, and yet you’re going to punish them for having some racy photos surface on the internets? Doesn’t make any sense to me.

I’m still in a state of disbelief that the Maloof brothers would actually consider punishing these gals. Seriously, those two guys are the last people on earth I’d expect to hand out discipline for the night of partying…come to your senses, Joe and Gavin! If owners of professional sports teams don’t allow drunken cheerleaders to snap sexually-suggestive photos at parties, the terrorists have won.
