Bob Knight Joins ESPN
Didn’t take long did it? ESPN has once again signed a coach/player onboard immediately following his/her ‘retirement.’ This time it’s a big deal. It’s the General himself. Bobby Knight baby. Slated to start on the 12th (March should have started today—what’s the deal with Leap Year anyways?), he’s going to be covering the Tournament through its finish in April.
I can’t wait to hear his analysis. The mantra behind the winningest coach in the history of college basketball (for now anyways… see Mike Krzyzewski) will be on national display. We will get an idea of what exactly goes on in his head when he discusses and breaks down various games. I’m certainly no expert on basketball but this man is. He’s the expert. Not only is he smart as heck, he’s original as heck. Bobby Knight is Bobby Knight. We won’t see this guy hold his tongue when he’s got something to say. I wonder if ESPN placed him under any restrictions…like leaving his chair on set instead of tossing it at the camera. We won’t see him agreeing with a co-host just for the sake of it. Isn’t that the worst? When you hear a guy murmuring in agreement when it’s clearly obvious he thinks differently. Yak, I hate that. Good luck Bobby!
