Erin Andrews Doesn’t Hate Bruce Pearl
The Chicago Tribune is just the latest mainstream publication to hop on-board the Erin Andrews phenomenon, as they did a profile of the sideline reporter sensation in the Sunday issue of the newspaper. The highlight: Andrews discussed the Bruce Pearl bear-hug-then-text-message-apology incident.
To catch people up, Pearl basically grabbed Andrews at halftime of the Tennessee-Memphis game a few weeks ago, and the video of that promptly became a YouTube hit. Then, we learned in Pearl’s recent interview with Dan Patrick that he sent Andrews a text message after the game to apologize for his unprofessional behavior. And now, we get Andrews’ side of the story:
He gave me a big bear hug. I wasn’t surprised at all because he’s very passionate. But right when it happened, you could see the reaction on my face: Oh, God, this is going to be all over the place.
He texted me and said: “Thanks for doing the game. Great working with you.” I said: “Absolutely” and mentioned: “You know this is gonna get a ton of play on the Internet, don’t you?” He’s like: “Oh, yeah.” He gets it.
You see that, guys? Andrews totally doesn’t hate Pearl, even though he groped her on national television. And that means Pearl still has a shot with Andrews.
Ah, you might laugh at that, but look at this example of a lady Pearl managed to pick up last summer. Yeah, he’s about 20 years older than Andrews, and he is indeed a bit on the chubby side, but he’s a helluva ladies man. In fact, I hear he has quite a bit of success with the pickup line, “Do you know karate? ‘Cause dammit honey, your body is really kickin’.”
I wouldn’t underestimate the guy — if I was a betting man, I’d say he’ll be dating Andrews before Tennessee’s season ends.
