President Bush: Not Exactly A Crowd Favorite
President Bush threw the ceremonial first pitch at the grand opening of Nationals Park on Sunday, and predictably, the crowd wasn’t particularly welcoming to him as he strolled out to the mound. I wouldn’t necessarily say the crowd was “booing” him…it might be more accurate to say he was “jeered” by the crowd, with a few cheers mixed in. Take a look, and judge for yourself the crowd’s reaction to the President:
Your obligatory Simpsons reference: They weren’t saying “boo,” they were saying “Boo-ush” (if you have no idea where that comes from, this video should explain it). But whether you love or hate the President, Jon Miller was right: Although Bush’s approval rating is in the tank, even the staunchest liberal has gotta admit that the man knows how to throw a damn good ceremonial first pitch.
