Tampa Bay Bullpen Coach Is Fond Of His Chair
The Tampa Bay Rays have been a perpetually awful team…in their 10-year franchise history, their most successful season was a year in which they finished with a .435 winning percentage. They’ve never won more than 70 games in a year, and have posted three 100-loss seasons. In nine of their 10 seasons, they’ve finished in last place in the AL East, and were Major League Baseball’s second-worst team in home attendance last season.
Take all those factors into consideration, and you might guess that enthusiasm for the new baseball season might be running a little low in the Rays clubhouse — but if this video of Tampa bullpen coach, Bobby Ramos, is any indication, the Rays are looking forward to a fresh start as the 2008 season gets underway. In fact, they’re really, REALLY excited about new season (if you’re at work, be warned that there’s an f-word in this video):
Well, I should probably mention that we don’t know for certain if this dude is actually Ramos, but regardless of the chairophile’s true identity, this video is funny as hell. To any future baseball coaches that might be tempted to hump a chair during a game, I’d advise this: Resist the urge, and continue watching the game. Some mischievous fans will inevitably capture the shenanigans on a cell phone camera, and you’ll end up on YouTube.
