South Park Takes Aim At Belichick
It’s about time, Trey Parker and Matt Stone! The guys behind South Park apparently aren’t too fond of Bill Belichick and the Spygate scandal, and took a hilarious shot at the embattled coach on this week’s episode of their show. In the clip, Cartman explains that, “In America, it’s OK to cheat as long as you cheat your way to the top” — this, he informs us, is how Belichick managed to reach the top of the coaching mountain in the NFL:
Simply brilliant…South Park has gotta be one of the best shows on television, and their treatment of Spygate certainly doesn’t disappoint. It’s hard to argue with some of the points being made in the clip; as someone who thinks Belichick is getting off easy for Spygate, I’d tend to agree with the point that “he got caught cheating and nobody cared” (the fans and the media cared, but the league’s reaction is another story).
So the pile on continues, and although Spygate isn’t currently in the news, there’s no chance in hell that people will stop taking shots at Belichick. And most fans of the NFL seem to be pretty happy about that.

South Park is late, therefore its attack is personal, gratuitous and, knowing this program, infantile. And most fans in the NFL are NOT “pretty happy about that.” They are grateful their own team hasn’t been caught yet at this universal game, have had enough of cheap shots cheapening the game, and want to move on. Try it, try yoga, confession, some exercise . . . all very cleansing, which will allow forgiveness and healing. Get over it. Let next season be about next season, and enjoy it.
