Video: Brett Favre Chats With David Letterman
Interesting interview on the Late Show a couple nights ago, as Brett Favre sat down for a conversation with David Letterman. Dave kept grilling Favre about the possibility of returning for the 2008 season, but Brett avoided giving concrete answers to those questions. He suggested that, as training camp nears, his interest in making a return would increase, but remained lukewarm about a potential comeback:
Also in the interview, it was announced that Favre will grace the cover of Madden 09 when the game releases in August. Adrian Peterson and Eli Manning were considered two top contenders for the cover, and I’m sure Vikings and Giants fans are breathing a HUGE sigh of relief that their respective teams will be unaffected by the Madden Curse next season. Can putting a retired player on the cover of Madden bring an end to the curse? It’ll be interesting to find out…
Anyways, I’m sure there are potential scenarios where Favre would opt to make a return to the NFL in 2008, but I think the odds of that actually happening are extremely slim. Although he’ll undoubtedly be tempted to make a comeback, I get the impression that Favre is at peace with his decision to retire.
