Video Picks: Mike Lowell, Cell Phone Bandit; Amazing Soccer Shots
For folks in Boston who have Red Sox tickets along the third base line, I have a warning for you: do not — I repeat, do NOT — leave your cell phone unattended during the game. There’s a cell phone bandit in left field for Boston, and his name is Mike Lowell. Observe Lowell slyly swiping a dude’s cell phone while a foul ball sails into the Fenway seats (thanks to Red Sox Monster for the video):
I imagine Lowell’s locker looks something like this. The left fielder would later return the phone — apparently, this whole thing was merely a prank. Man, some crazy stuff happens at Fenway when a foul is hit into the seats on the third base line; someone gets their cell phone swiped, a dude gets a pizza thrown in his face. It’s madness out there.
Elsewhere, I think I speak for many of my fellow soccer-illiterate sports fans when I say that we’d watch more of The Beautiful Game if the matches were like this:
Disclaimer: Kicking a soccer ball at a police van, and then proceeding to kick a soccer ball through the doors of a police station is surely not recommended. But that was pretty dang impressive/funny — this guy takes soccer hooliganism to a whole new level.
