Video Picks: Drunk Referees, Giambi’s Mustache, Angry Baseball Managers
Give this soccer referee credit…the fact that he showed up for work, dressed himself in his uniform and made it out onto the field is pretty darn impressive, considering the fact that he seemed to be rather intoxicated. It was ultimately determined that this Belarusian referee was unable to officiate the match, but hilarity still ensued as he staggered off the field:

Did I mention that he also hurt his back during the game? Yeah, those are two qualities you want to see in a referee: Drunkenness and back pain. Of course, it’s a pretty damning assessment of soccer in Belarus when even the refs have no desire to be sober during the matches.
Elsewhere, Awful Announcing delivers video of an interview on ESPN First Take with Aaron Perlut, the executive director of the American Mustache Institute. Yes, I was just as surprised as you are to learn that there is such a thing as the American Mustache Institute. Perlut appeared on the show to discuss Jason Giambi’s mustache (and, by the way, Perlut has a nice Borat mustache going):
Well, with such strong supporters as the AMI, it’s truly stunning that Giambi was ousted by Evan Longoria for the final spot on the American League’s All-Star team. On another note, who knew that the position of executive director for the AMI required one to wear a stethoscope and a doctor’s coat?
Finally, Towel Drills points us to the latest minor league baseball manager to have a less-than-cordial confrontation with an umpire. His name is Kash Beauchamp, he manages the Wichita Wingnuts, and he would like you to smell his shoe and armpits:
