AXG does it again: Exclusive interviews with Hakim Warrick and Kyle Lowry

Some of you might wonder where the crack staff of this fine blog have gone while Aarick has done a great job holding it down. You can catch Sean at U. of Penn, where he's taking a full load of classes. AG is always busy being in the know. As for me, I've been hanging out at Basketball University, getting set for my favorite sporting event of the year - March Madness.

The trade deadline came and went with little fanfare for Sixers fans. For many, that was a relief. After briefly trying to come up with a trade for Andre Miller in one of my Monday Memo segments, it quickly became obvious to everyone that trading our veteran point guard would be a huge mistake.

Instead, I have always kept my eye on Philly guys playing elsewhere. With the Memphis-Philly connection, I was hoping we would make an exchange to bring Kyle Lowry and Hakim Warrick back to the city of brotherly love. To make it happen, I would be willing to deal Rodney Carney back to his college town and even Lou Williams with Lowry as Miller's backup and Willie Green as our combo guard. Yes, I did say that I would rather part with Lou over Miller. I'd prefer to keep him over Green, but Willie has impressed me this year. It might take Lou to get the deal done over Green, but it wouldn't be enough at this point to break the opportunity to get Lowry and Warrick, in my opinion.

So, that was the deal I wanted. I'm not sure if it was a serious consideration or not, but there were reports that the Sixers did inquire into Lowry's status. I'll try to get Ed Stefanski for you sometime next week to see what he could tell us about the discussions that were brewing prior to the deadline. Nothing major, I'm sure.

But as for Lowry and Warrick, Anthony Gilbert scored a courtside interview with both players in his famous 2 questions segments. Check out these links, courtesy of YouTube:

Sixers will be playing the Heat in Miami tonight, starting at 7:30pm Eastern. The game will be on WPSG-57. I will have another surprise for you on Monday, thanks to AXG. Stay tuned to Passion and Pride for all your Sixers needs!

I enjoyed the Hakim Warrick interview. What i liked best were the questions asked. In this country we have 450 NBA players, but over a million lawyers. Educate yourself!
