It only took the Maineiacs 2:18 into the game to get the game. Marc Bourgeois beats Jake Allen five hole from the left circle. Stefano Giliati and Patrick Cusack added an assist to their totals.  The Fog Devils had a hard time getting the puck into the offensive zone. At the 5:55 mark T.J Brennan goes off for tripping. With 20 seconds remaining in Lewiston’s powerplay Stefan Chaput got his 31st on the year at the 12:35 mark. He was sitting on the goal line and had an open cage to shoot at. Chris Tutalo and rookie Alexander Beaton got the helpers. Dennis Reul goes off for hooking with 11:20 to go in the period. The Fog Devils cancel out their own powerplay with too many on the ice at the 10:33 mark. Jake Allen robs a Maineiac shot with a glove save. On the other end St. John’s had an open net but Jonathan Bernier left arm was last defense as he able to cover it up. After the whistle’s the player’s were exchanging pleasantries. St. Jon’s were on the powerplay when Jonathan Bernier robbed them once again. Lewiston starts committing penalties at the end of the session. After the final buzzer a St. John’s player went after Stefano Giliati. The linesman went to break it up but got a stick in the shoulder.
The Maineiacs kill off the rest of Stefan Chaput penalty that carried over from the 1st period. Lewiston couldn’t capitalize on their 1st man advantage of the second stanza. There was a little get together in the Maineiacs end and Kevin Marshall and Mathieu Labrie went off. Lewiston then came up the ice and shot one over Allen. Patrick Cusack went off for slashing. Billy Lacasse had a short handed chance but deflected off a St. John’s player. Jonathan Bernier faced a flurry of shots and made a couple of saves. The Maineiacs only had once chance on their second powerplay. Lewiston had another chance when a knuckle puck was released. Danick Paquette tried to stuff it in. Stefano Giliati had a breakaway but roofed the backhander into the protective net. Wes Welcher was called for delay of game when he shot the puck into the crowd. On the man advantage Bernier had to make a nice stop. Lewiston would go on a five on three powerplay for another delay of game. Stefan Chaput would stuff it in. Cusack an Tutalo go their second assists on the night. Lewiston would have another five on three man advantage for 11 seconds at the end of the second period.
