MEXICAN PACIFIC LEAGUE
Friday

Yanquis de Obregon 15, Aguilas de Mexicali 5
SS Luis Cruz went 2-for-3 with a triple, two walks, an RBI.  He was also hit by a pitch and scored 3 runs.  His triple started a 3-run rally in the 1st inning.  Cruz was one of 3 batters hit by pitches in the 4th inning, as Obregon scored 5 more runs.  In the 7th inning, Cruz led off with a walk in the 7th inning when Obregon added another 4 runs.

Saturday

Yanquis 7, Aguilas 5
Cruz went 0-for-4, though he contributed a sacrifice bunt to move a runner along in the 5th inning, when Obregon scored 4 runs.

Algodoneros de Guasave 5, Tomateros de Culiacan 1
John Van Benschoten started for Culiacan, and pitched 5 innings, allowing 3 runs on 8 hits and 2 walks, while striking out 2 batters.  He allowed only one walk over the first two innings, then gave up a run in the 3rd on a walk and two singles.  Three straight singles brought in another run in the 4th.  Van Benschoten gave up two more singles in the 5th, but did not allow those base runners to score.  Then he gave up a double to open the 6th inning, and he was relieved, but was charged with the run, as that runner came around to score.  Van Benschoten was charged with the loss, his 3rd in the Mexican League.

VENEZUELAN LEAGUE
Friday

Tigres de Aragua 4, Aguilas de Zulia 2
C Raul Chavez went 1-for-4 for Aragua, and 1B Brad Eldred did the same for Zulia.  Eldred's single started a 2nd inning rally for Zulia, and he came around to score.  Chavez's single led off the 5th inning, sparking a 3-run rally.

Cardinales de Lara 6, Caribes de Anzoategui 5
Former Indy Indian (2007) Michael Tejera took the loss for Los Caribes, as he gave up 5 runs on 8 hits over 5 innings.  RF Jose Tabata  hit a double in the 2nd inning, knocking in 2-runs for Los Caribes, but he was caught trying to steal third base.

Saturday

Aguilas de Zulia 2, Tigres de Aragua 1
Raul Chavez had 2 singles, accounting for half of Aragua's hits.  He also reached base in the 8th inning, when Zulia's 1B Brad Eldred made a throwing error.  Eldred went 0-for-3 in the game.  Solo homers accounted for all of the runs -- two in the 6th for Zulia, and one in the 8th for Aragua.

Caribes de Anzoategui 3, Cardinales de Lara 2
Former Indy Indian Giovanni Carrera pitched 5 innings, allowing 2 runs (1 earned) on 3 hits while striking out 6 batters.  He did not figure into the decision, though, as Los Caribes scored the winning run in the bottom of the 7th (the last inning).  DH Eliezer Alfonzo reached on a fielding error, and former Pirate farmhand LF Ray Sadler singled.  RF Jose Tabata sacrifice bunted to move the runners along, and an intentional walk loaded the bases.  Then pinch hitter Marcos Rodgriguez hit the RBI single that ended the game.

Leones del Caracas 13, Bravos de Margarita 5
C Carlos Maldonado walked and came around to score in the 8-run 4th inning for Caracas.  Los Leones scored 4 more runs in the 7th inning.  Maldonado grounded into a force out in that inning, but was safe at first on a missed catch error.  He again came around to score.  Former Pirate farmhand Yurendell de Caster singled for Margarita, and former Pirate Ray Olmedo had a single and a double for Los Bravos.   Romulo Sanchez pitched the 8th inning for Caracas.  He loaded the bases with a single, a hit batter, and a walk, but then struck out the next two batters to end the inning.

DOMINICAN LEAGUE
Friday

Aguilas Cibaenas 11, Azucareros del Este 2
Franquelis Osoria pitched the 7th inning for Los Aguilas, allowing a run on 3 singles and a walk.

Leones del Escogido 6, Gigantes del Cibao 4
A walk, a double, and an error gave Escogido two runs in the top of the 10th inning for the win.  Juan Perez pitched a perfect 5th inning for Los Gigantes, and Jesse Chavez allowed only a walk in the scoreless 8th.

Tigres de Licey 8, Estrellas de Oriente 1
C Ronny Paulino's two homers accounted for 5 of Licey's runs.  His homer in the 2nd inning brought in Toledo Mud Hens' Timo Perez, and his 3 run homer, scoring Perez and Indianapolis area native Jake Fox, capped a 6-run 8th inning.

Saturday

Aguilas Cibaenas 8, Gigantes del Cibao 6
Franquelis Osoria had a better outing on Saturday, as he entered the game in relief for Los Aguilas in the 8th inning.  Two runs had already scored on a homer by Brad Nelson (Brewers), but Osoria retired the next three batters in order, including a strikeout.  Jesse Chavez and Juan Perez did not have a good game on Saturday, though.  Perez began the 7th inning on the mound for Los Gigantes, and allowed a walk, a double, and a single, before being relieved by Chavez.  Chavez gave up an RBI single and a 3-run homer, and Perez was charged with the loss.

Tigres del Licey 6, Leones del Escogido 3
Ronny Paulino hit a solo homer in the 4th inning, and walked and then scored in the 8th inning when former Indy Indian (2007) Runelvys Hernandez threw two wild pitches.

PUERTO RICAN LEAGUE
Friday

Gigantes de Carolina 10, Leones de Ponce 9
Jorge Charry retired the side in the 6th inning for Ponce, but then gave up 3 consecutive singles to lead off the 7th inning before being relieved.  One of the base runners scored on a double play, and that run was charged to Charry.
