A(nother) Big Week for Beckham…

Signs of things to come ? 

Well, it looks like David Beckham is going to be playing up to his potential every time he steps onto the field this season, providing he stays fit.  His great performances teaming with Landon Donovan in theses early matches is something we could only catch a glimpse of late last season, and then in the off-season.  Everything seems to be clicking with those two… Now, if the can only inspire the rest of the team on to more wins, that will be a beautiful thing !

Weaving…oh yeah, that’s what that is !

A great article (with accompanying video) called “Beckham, Donovan weave magic in LA” makes their case quite well.  Anyone watching the official Fox Sports Net match highlights can see how well the two gelled in the second half.

(excerpt) “Houston dominated the opening 45 minutes, and took a lead into the locker room thanks to Brad Davis. But Donovan scored twice, set up each time by Beckham, as the Galaxy twice came back from a goal down before finally sharing the points for their first draw of the season.”

The media seems focused this week on the NBA playoffs and Major League Baseball, but the Galaxy’s comeback did manage to tear a few reporters away from thier traditional spring obsessions long enough to cover it.  Beckham himself seems to be getting more respectful coverage this season, with major new profiles and interviews on the biggest networks.  His team will also get more respect if they start winning more with their $6.5 million captain leading the charge.
