The ink on Dez Bryant’s contract is just drying and he’s already out for at least a month with an injury. Cowboys 1st round draft pick Dez Bryant was injured in practice yesterday with a high ankle sprain after getting tangled up with cornerback Orlando Scandrick after a pass play. Scandrick landed awkwardly on Bryant’s ankle which caused the injury.
Dez needed assistance from trainers to get off the field, which was an alarming site to Cowboys fans in attendance at Friday’s afternoon practice session.
Bryant was scheduled to have an MRI on the injured ankle last Friday night, but no word as to if the results were negative. In speaking with ESPN’s Chris Mortensen on Friday Cowboys owner Jerry Jones suggested that Bryant may have been over worked in practice as he’s working with the receivers and special teams as a kick returner.
