Sampras returns to competitive action as we take a brief look back at his illustrious career
Tennis legend Pete Sampras will return to
The man who held the number No. 1 ranking for a record 286 weeks can include
seven Wimbledon single titles, two Australian Open titles and five US Open
single titles in his list of achievements and during his 15 year career, it was
only the French Open that eluded him. Still, a fairly remarkable player wasn't
he?

Thomas, a good informative blog! I don't hear too much about these great players from the past but would like to know how they fare amongst themselves. Depending on you to keep us posted about "who beat who" and a match commentary.

Thomas I don't bet on anything - however, when SAMPRAS TALKS - I LISTEN! There's a great article on BBC/Tennis about his takes on several players. High praise for Murray being ready to win a slam and his curiosity about how Rafa will fare in 2009 being his physical style eventually breaks the body down - while Roger expends much less energy allowing him to sustain a longer career.
I think Sampras has the best views about current players in the "champions circle" probably because he's been there & stays on top of whats going on in tennis today.
