Patriots' late-round picks

Pick 171. OT Clint Oldenburg (Colo St.),the 6’5, 296†pounder,†has played guard, left/right tackle.
Tom Casale of Patriots Football Weekly has this to say on Oldenburg as a†pick:
“The Patriots drafted OT Clint Oldenburg out of Colorado State. The amazing thing is Clintís brother e-mailed in to Ask PFW this week and asked me my thoughts†on Oldenburg. While I didnít think Clint would be drafted, I thought he would be a good pickup for the Patriots as undrafted free agent. Oldenburg is†former tight end in the Tom Ashworth mold. Heís 6-5, 300 pounds and a coachís son. Oldenburg played left tackle, right tackle, guard and tight end in college. A versatile but raw player who could develop in the Patriots system. A definite practice squad candidate. Maybe Clintís brother knew something we didnít.”
Brent’s Take: There is not much on this kid to know much more abotu him at the moment…. but seems like a natural fit for the Pats at this point in the draft.
Beth’s Take: Casale prob. right. Not much to know about him otherwise. Here’s one scouting report†I found that seems to sum him up.
Pick 180. DE Justin Rogers, Southern Methodist Mustangs. (SMU also home to Craig James.)
Beth’s Take: Whence the focus on the defensive line? Is it a draft thing or has the team identified a less-than-obvious deficiency? Or is this another practice-squad pickup?†
Brent’s Take: The guys from PFW just started talking about Rogers wrestling Coyotes for fun seems like a perfect Patriots developmental player.† Listed as DE at SMU, but could be a Tedy Bruschi type to train in the system for a year or two – Let’s see!
Pick 202. Mike Richardson, CB, Notre Dame. Rated 47th out of 224 CB’s in this year’s draft. Fills a need many recognized in the Patriots–defensive secondary.
Beth’s Take: One wonders about the Weiss-Belichick connection here; also, anyone know if Belichick has any friends in Miami?
More draft notes: Yesterday was the longest first round in NFL Draft history at 6 hours, 8 minutes (Insert Brady Quinn joke here). Mike Reiss reports†that this marks the first time in team history that the Patriots have selected players from the same school consecutively.
Pick 208. RB Justise Hairston (C Conn)†Not much available on Hairston.† Looks like a New Englander gets a shot on the team.† Was previously at Rutgers before transferring to Central Connecticut.
Pick 209. OT Corey Hilliard (Okl St.)†Lots of experience being a four-year starter, has played left/right tackle.† Could be a developmental player and make the practice squad and seems like a pick that could develop into a good back-up.
Pick 211. ILB Oscar Lua (USC) Handled the play calling for USC the last two years, has had various knee trouble and is a developmental type for teams to utilize him against the run.
Pick 247. C Mike Elgin (Iowa) Another offensive lineman to come in and workout with the Patriots.† Has played center and guard which is good for a team that values versatility – possible practice squad guy to learn under Dante and the veterans in the O-line.
