Brady is 'alright', Rivers dances and TO cries

As I sit here contemplating what to write, I have to wonder what others are thinking about the Patriots and the playoffs this weekend..
Interestingly, it doesn’t take long on the internet to find out that Jaguars rookie safety Reggie Nelson thinks Tom Brady is ‘alright’, but no bag of potato chips.
More then a few people were outraged at poor Philip Rivers as he taunted the Colts fans from the sidelines. Um – wasn’t Rivers suppose to be injured? Like his knee or something? If so why was he jumping up and down yelling at the Colts fans?
Aha – I know why. During the intermission when the NFL was passing out the Punt, Pass and Kick competition the Colts fans booed the 14 year old girl wearing a Patriots jersey. So thank you Rivers for standing up for her! It is much appreciated.
I almost (ok not really) feel sorry for TO. I too nearly broke down in tears – trying not to laugh. geez gimme a break…
Oh and by the way, the Cowboys lost because Jessica Simpson was not at the game but visiting her uncle Homer.

The Colts, saintly Tony Dungy and all, got basically what they deserved for taking it easy in their final fixture of the regular season.
I don’t get why Dungy is so highly thought of and Belichick treated with such disdain. A lot was riding on that final fixture, not least for Cleveland, but Dungy let his team have the weekend off.
I for one am content to see the two teams that treated the last fixture of the regular season with contempt, Dallas and Indianapolis, dumped out of the play-offs. It’s just what they deserved.
They took it easy, they lost their edge and then they just lost.

yeah, that statue of liberty was pretty ‘alright’, huh reggie? :-)

You are right Andrew – Vrabel is a smart and athletic player that could line up anywhere.
I think he could add on an extra year or two in the NFL if he moved from defense over to tight-end, where he could block and catch.
Imagine that in today’s sporting era?!

You are right that T.O. thing was ridiculous. Gimme a break. I liked Michael Strayhan’s comment after the game:
“We hope T.O. has his popcorn ready, maybe him and Crayton can sit his home theater and watch us next week.”
    HA!!

Tom Brady was alright…and Tiger woods is average. oh and MJ was lucky.
We are witnessing one of the Greatest seasons by ANY quarterback. Last week someone on the internet indicated that Brady’s defining moment to date was the tuck. We after Saturday’s performance, I think that all goes away. Its a toss up now between 92.9% completion rate or the Statue of Brady play.
Brady could end up with 4 or 5 rings on his finger before he is done.
In Bill and Tom we Trust.
    Go Pats.

The comments of the Patriot players in that first link (Tom Brady is “alright”) really are impressive and indicate was a cohesive unit Belichick has created. I mean Moss did more blocking than catching at the weekend and maybe he told Tom Brady what good fun it was, because even Brady had a go at it on one of the running plays. Okay, it wasn’t the meatiest block you’re ever likely to see, but it was damned effective.
Maybe it was the shock of getting blocked by Tom Brady that stopped the fellow dead in his tracks rather than contact. He may even now, days later be wandering around in a daze mumbling to himself “I got blocked, by Tom Brady”.
But my favourite player is still the total footballer Mike Vrabel; he plays defence, he plays offence, he plays special teams. A man for all schemes. I don’t know if the rules allow it, but I’d like to see him trundle onto the field on a third and goal (maybe an inches to the end zone), trot over to the umpire and clock in for duty as quarterback.

i’d love to see touchdown vrabel lined up at TE, but i think his heart is as a LB.
also, the brady block was truly a moment of glory. almost as good as when he deked brian urlacher.
