I watched it on the BBC, not Sky, so didn’t see the coverage you saw, Brent. But usually Sky take the commentary of the main American broadcaster, which would be Fox (an affiliate of Sky) for the super bowl, I guess.
The BBC had Mike Carlson (a contemporary of Bill Belichick at college) and an ex-Baltimore Raven, whose name I never caught. But when Carlson, who I think has been resident in the UK for a while, tried to explain the rules to the British audience, all he succeeded in doing was confusing the ex-Baltimore guy by bring rugby league into it.
During the game I think the BBC used the coverage and commentators from the NFL Network.
B ETH I’m a giants fan living in mass.only becauce some 50 years ago tht’s all the pro football we had to watch . all my other sport teams are boston ,love the celtics . that means i listen to weei and cnes . you say we are classless giant fans , well you tell me if you can find a more obnoxios, arrigant, demeaning crew whene it comes to the pats then these guys , mike fellger #1, only last night he is still badmouthing the giants, calling them at best a middle of the pack team . before the game he said the giant’s secondary were ” garbage ” . now you call us classless . we have some jerks too but we usually call them out .but don’t get me wrong , i think you are a pretty objective writer.
The ex-Raven was Rod Woodson.
Oh crikey, the missus has found my final hiding place – I’d better be on my best behaviour from now on.
