Moss and Brown are gone. Gaffney and Stallworth will stay. Washington will replace Mitchell and Izzo as Special teamas captain and also line up at WR. Stallworth and Washington may also cahnge there deals to be more cap friendly.
Samuel, Gay and Mitchell will be gone. Wilson will not get offers elsewhere and may be cut before 08 season begins.
Bruschi and Izzo will go to retirement. Colvin will have to adjust his salary or be cut.
The Patriots could go after Gregg Ellis or even Bobby Carpenter from Dallas. But I expect Parcells to get them first.
B
Bobby Carpenter is not a FA to my knowledge, and neither is Greg Ellis, though Ellis is rumored to be on the chop block. I feel that Izzo will be back because he has a high value to this team and will not have a large salary. Either Moss or Samuel will be back, just not both. Both have said they would like to return, but obviously both men’s salaries will not fit.
Hey Jamie,
Belichick has not always just taken FA
guys i think samuel is deff gone stallworth is deff gone and u crazy if u think moss is getting cut. I hope that seau and bruisici come back for one more run for the title.
well now it is obvious, with teddy resigning, and stallworth, samuel, colvin, brady (kyle), and possibly Gay going away. Well the rest of them are gone and Gay is still in talks. Hopefully Moss will stay, if the pats are that far under the salary cap then they can offer moss a decient contract, I say pick up Ty Law again, he is only 33 and sign him to a 1 year deal with a 1 year option for 2009-2010. That would fill some of our CB spots. I just hope there is a good rookie draft class this year
