Jabar Gaffney returning to the Pats

In an expected move, the Patriots have re-signed WR Jabar Gaffneyto a one-year deal worth $2 million. The Pats now have their top 3 receivers towards the end of last season returning. With Wes Welker, Randy Moss, and now Gaffney back, Brady’s favorite targets are back in the fold, which should allow the team to continue its offensive mastery. As the regular season started winding down, Gaffney overtook Donte Stallworth as the #2 receiver (though the #3 option behind Moss and Welker). Gaffney and Brady have good chemistry, and he’s now the senior member of the receiving core as it relates to time spent with this offense. Brady looked to him in critical times last year, and Gaffney delivered.     i’m just so glad they re-signed moss…that assuages my worries over the dreaded ‘rebuilding year’, at least.

    Ahh , but we did sign jason webster a veteran cb that will def help out our secondary. He didnt get his name out much last year due to an early injury, but jason is def a very intense cd. im looking foward to seeing how he fits into our defensive puzzle.

    I totally agree. Webster will probably be an upgrade over Gay at nickel. There’s still some more work to be done. We can’t really field a 3-4 at the moment…
