Pats should say, "Game Over" to Pacman

Over the past couple of days, rumors have been running rampant that the Patriots have a strong interest in Adam “Pacman” Jones. Pacman, as you may recall, has been gobbling up run-ins with the law and strip clubs like they were little yellow dots and red cherries since he entered the NFL in 2005. After the infamous incident in a Las Vegas strip club that left a man paralyzed, Pacman has been serving a year (and counting) long suspension, and now he wants to be re-instated before the draft so as to work out a trade for his services.

As desperate as the Pats are for corners, Pacman is the last person they should go after. Well, maybe the legendary Earthwind Moreland is the last person they should go after, but Pacman’s just one step

  1. Matt Soteroff says:

I agree. I see nothing that Pacman brings to the table. It seems as though people have overblown his skills since he’s been out. He is a great return man and not much more. He’s a very solid young cornerback, but he’s no Asante Samuel, and he doesn’t strike me as the kind of guy who has been keeping in shape and doing everything he could to make a solid return. People say the Patriots are good at rehabilitating players who have lost their way…well, those are the type of players who care about football and are disgruntled because they want to win. Not guys who never learn and if given another chance, they’ll abuse it and do another dumb thing.

Exactly. The only thing remotely athletic he’s done is work with TNA wrestling, and I don’t even know to what capacity that was.
