Patriots Bandwagoners, mount up!

Just as surely as the turf in Gillette Stadium is green and white, fair-weather fans of Patriot Nation are showing their true colors. Buck up troopers! This is only one performance of a long season and the first loss in 21 regular season games.
The Patriots played against one of their all time toughest rivals where generally Miami has at least one win a season against the Patriots. Last year was obviously (16-0) and exception.
Now having lived through the Tony Eason era and then some other obvious fun times before Drew Bledsloe, Bill Parcells and the honorable Robert Kraft created what has become known as one of the best Franchises in the NFL, this is not and will not become the worst of times.
Now time for some cool aid!
I have said before that I am not a big fan of Matt Cassel and he still has alot of experience to gain before he will really be… impressive.

This is the funniest thing ever. These people think this or last years Patriot team was the best assembled football team(pro) ever. They would not have beaten the 89 49ers,94 49ers, 92 cowboys, 93 or 95 cowboys, hell, even those superbowl years Bills…not saying they would have gotten their b-hinds handed to them but that they are as close to the tallent level we saw with those teams back then but my point is,the good times always come to an end….see our country! thanks new world order!

Wow I’m amazed at how quickly the media harps on the Patriots fans for bailing on their team. I left the game because I was peeved at the fact that the team “collectively” was not playing to their standard or mine. You could see it all over the place. What made me more mad was the fact that the coaching staff made no adjustments at ALL! I have an opinion about Matt and that is that Cassell is just not that good of a quarterback. That’s not a put-down, I just don’t think he has the talent to run the offense. He doesn’t make reads and for the moment he does not make adjustments to the play called. Now you can say that’s because he is a back up but every quarterback that I’ve seen that after 3 years became a starter that is “good” can not only make reads before the snap, they can check down to the 2nd or 3rd reciever, I don’t see that in Matt. Bandwagon jumper no, facing the fact that it will be a long year if things don’t change, yes.

This whole idea of bandwagon fans leaving early is quite obtuse. What stadium is packed full of encouraging fans in the fourth quarter when their team plays poorly and gets routed? I’ve been to plenty of games at Giants stadium, Schaffer Stadium (Foxboro in the Grogan/Eason years), and a few others (luckily enough) over the years and have never, ever, seen a fanbase cheer a losing effort or stay to the end of a blowout with smiles on their faces. Seriously. Someone who brings up fickle fans or bandwagoners is only revealing their own bias and sounds like the obnoxious little kid on the playground who rubs someone’s shortcomings in their face. The fans booed a terrible game by the Pats. They paid good money and saw a bad performance all around (although the defense and staff were notably the worst offenders). Since when can a true fan not criticize his/her team? Wouldn’t the person who offers up only sunshine in the face of obvious stormclouds be the bandwagoner? You sound like someone with an axe to grind against the Pats and their fans. Speaking in generalities (whether about race, religion, nationality, gender, age, etc.) is nothing more than ignorance.

As a person that does not have season tickets, I would have stayed until the end!
For those that did leave early and are season ticket holders and booed on – yes the first lousy performance since 2006 – it is a pity they could nto support the team in the first losing game in a long time….
Critcizing a team is one thing, but turning you back on them as the 4th quarter starts is another…
Andy and karma, This doesn’t read like spilt milk as he also critizes the team so you are generalizing on the title and the last part of the article….
Most Pats fans today only know the good times….

Just because you boo doesn’t mean you’re turning your back on the team or jumping off the bandwagon. Generally when someone performs lousy at their job it is made known to them….booing is the fans way of letting the team know they played like crap. I was at the game (and stayed until the end) and I had no problem with people booing. The players are big boys and that doesn’t mean the fans don’t support them. They had a bad game and the fans let them know.

Parking in Foxb $50, 1st in the NFL…Tickets $150 and up, first in the NFL. Traffic from Interstate 495 to Foxb worst in th NFL. Matt C a great nopnplaying back up noted by the NE fans in preseason but not noted by the Boston media or the Pat’s coaching staff. Coaching staff on the defense failed to adjust…Coaching on offence failed to try to play catch up and when the defense noted their apathy they mailed it in. Boston media shows unreasonable support and is totally non critical…same media who supported Caldwell et al, Julian Tavaraz and Julio Lugo…and even The Bruins. Grades Pat’s as a whole D- Offense D- Defense D- Special teams A- Media F NE fans A (suffered thru 84 yrs with the Sox, 20 yrs with the Celtics, forever with the Bruins…The Big Dig and High Mass Taxes and are now destined to a lost season with our beloved Pats…and you thinkl things are bad on Wall Street…come on lets hear it for the Fans!)
