A season debut, an NHL debut

by pennskinsfan on November 20, 2009

Tonights Washington Capitals and Montreal Canadians show down will feature for the Caps a season debut and a NHL debut.

When the Caps take the ice tonight, 2008 first round draft pick John Carlson will make his NHL debut.  With injuries to Milan Jurcina and Shaone Morrisonn, Carlson will get into the lineup for the first time in his young career.  The 19 year old is said to be as close as you get to NHL ready and Caps fans will get a glimpse of the future tonight.  Morrisonn is a likely go tomorrow.

With Jose Theodore out for ‘personal’ reasons, recently recalled Michal Neuvirth will make his NHL season debut tonight.  Neuvirth was called up from Hershey when Theo left the team to take care of personal matters.  The latest on Theo is that he could be ready to roll again tomorrow.  With back to back games, it is likely that Semyon Varlamov will get the nod tomorrow, hence, Neuvy making his season debut tonight.
