Building on a strong foundation

MVN was founded in 1985 by Marsha Van Name, a fixture in the New York construction industry since 1977.

We quickly made a name for ourselves as dockbuilding and commercial diving specialists, but we realized that a multidiscipline team was needed to assist our clients in quickly assessing and developing solutions to problems whose components span multiple disciplines.

Eager to add value to our relationships, we expanded our project design and management capabilities, building MVN into a single source for everything our clients need, every step of the way.

As our reputation for creative problem solving began to grow, we earned the opportunity to help with some truly challenging and exciting projects, especially with some of New York City’s largest utilities and power generation facilities.

This has led to us having a true breadth of project experience in and around NYC, including the time we relocated the Concorde from JFK to the Intrepid Sea, Air & Space Museum.

Now, as an experienced company with optimal flexibility, we excel at custom-designing cost-effective solutions to truly unique challenges, and then building tailored project teams to implement successful outcomes. In other words, we make a plan and make it happen, regardless of the complexity.

Looking forward, MVN will continue to grow in capability and experience, but one thing will never change: where others only see problems, we will always envision solutions.
