Keeping the Risk Out of Repair

Con Edison

Project Overview

Con Edison needed an emergency repair to a bulkhead that surrounded a 36-inch natural gas main, and they chose MVN to get the job done safely and with no disruption in service.

The job was full of risks. The bulkhead was in an active Mass Transit Authority rail yard in Manhattan. And because Con Edison wanted to keep the gas flowing to their customers, the repairs had to happen next to a live gas main, one that had been in service for over 100 years.

MVN custom-designed a project plan and construction techniques that repaired the bulkhead while meeting or exceeding Con Edison standards for responsiveness and commitment to safety.
